The origins of the Abyssyll elves are shrouded in mystery. Unlike other Elven subtypes, they are the only Elves who can cast Soul magic. What's more, even ancient Abyssyll have a difficult time recalling information from the time of their evolution, leaving historians with only more questions about their creation.
Of all the Elves, they have some of the most striking visual mutations. These mutations range from horns and scales, to tails, and even hooved feet. They are always born with any non-Eternyll elf skin color. Abyssyll elves are often considered frightening to look upon, and are prejudiced against as being untrustworthy. Any half-Abyssyl becomes completely indistinguishable from a full Abyssyll, meaning their features have carried on for generations and spread throughout the known world. Half-Abyssyll do not automatically inherit the magical lineage of their non-Abyssyll parent, as other types of half-elf would.
They can become gifted mages, but many also lean into their savage appearance by becoming fearsome fighters.
